Namaste!

Welcome to the Land of the Himalayas!

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will meet you in the arrival hall with a warm Nepalese welcome and a pleasant smile. After, we will drive to our hotel in a private AC vehicle, enjoying the vibrant streets of Kathmandu.

Once we arrive at our hotel, our travel planner will provide a safety briefing and trip details and assist with a gear check to ensure we are fully equipped for the adventure ahead.

In the evening, we will enjoy a welcome dinner at a traditional Nepalese restaurant, with cultural performances that help us get to know our team and provide a glimpse of Nepalese culture and traditions.

Kathmandu Altitude: 1400 m
Overnight: Hotel in Kathmandu
Meals Included: None

Our morning starts early today because weather in the Himalayas is unpredictable so that we will take the earliest flight possible. A thrilling experience awaits as we get a 30-minute scenic Himalayan flight and land in one of the most adventurous airports in the world, Tenzing-Hillary Airport at Lukla (2860 meters)– the gateway to Everest.

After we land, we will meet our support team and then officially commence our trek. From the village nestled in the mountains, we will begin a slow up and down through the pine forest and stone-paved trails. Now and then, we will pass small Sherpa settlements with traditional houses and welcoming locals, mani walls with Tibetan prayers, and views of Kusum Kanguru Peak. After crossing the crystal-clear Dudh Koshi River’s suspension bridge, we will set up our first camp in Phakding.

Phakding Altitude: 2610 meters
Walking Duration: 3 to 4 hours
Overnight: Mountain Tea Houses in Phakding
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Following the Dudh Koshi River, we will continue our walk along a lush, forested trail. Upon reaching Jorsalle, we will make the official entry into Sagarmatha National Park (a World Heritage Site), then continue along the route, enjoying views of the fierce waterfall along the way. The trail gets a bit challenging ahead as we will be climbing stairs to reach the Hillary Bridge.

Crossing the bridge, we will continue a steep climb through the forest, which opens the first panoramic views of the mountains. Coming out of the forest, we will then be welcomed to the amphitheatre setting of Namche Bazaar, the most famous and prominent Sherpa settlement in the Everest region. With mountains as a backdrop, the village in the steep landscape features small handicraft and trekking shops, charming cafes, and several lodges and porter houses, offering a glimpse of the thriving Sherpa community.

Namche Altitude: 3200 meters
Walking Duration: 5 to 6 hours
Distance: 11 Kilometers
Overnight: Mountain Tea Houses in Namche
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

At an elevation of approximately 3,550 meters, we will follow the International Mountain Climbing Guideline to allow our bodies time to acclimate to the reduced atmospheric oxygen. Leaving our luggage behind, we will climb a steep hill to reach the Everest viewpoint, which offers panoramic views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and the majestic Mount Everest.

Soaking in the view, we will enjoy a cup of tea and let our bodies feel the atmosphere around us. After ample time at that altitude, we can either retrace our steps to the lodge or descend to Khumjung village, a prominent Sherpa settlement known for its many legendary Sherpas and the Khunde Monastery.

Upon returning, we will have free time to browse the charming Namche Bazaar. Consider visiting the Sherpa Culture Museum, enjoying a coffee while watching mountaineering films, or visiting local shops and chatting with locals.

Namche Altitude: 3200 meters
Walking Duration: 2 to 3 hours
Overnight: Mountain Tea Houses in Namche
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

After crossing Namche Bazaar, we will walk today with views of Ama Dablam and Thamserku. Along the balcony trail of the viewpoint we climbed yesterday, we will be mesmerised by the incredible Ama Dablam. Reaching Tashingo, we will find ourselves at the crossroads between the Gokyo Lake trail and the Everest Base Camp.

Descending to Phunki Thanka, we will reach the riverside and continue climbing along a forested trail after crossing a bridge. The forest is popular for sightings of rare high-altitude animals, including the Red Panda. Peacocks and other birds may cross our path, and the forest offers a tranquil atmosphere. Crossing the forest, we find ourselves in Tengboche on the ridge. One of the oldest and holiest monasteries in the region provides a Spiritual setting where we can attend the monks’ evening chanting ceremony, set against golden peaks.

Tengboche Altitude: 3,860 meters

Today, we will cross another altitude milestone on our way to our camp.

Starting with a descent, we will leave the forested Tengboche towards the village of Debuche. Crossing the Imja Khola, our walk continues past the Mani walls and chortens that lead to one of the oldest permanent Sherpa settlements of Pangboche. The area is renowned for the Pangboche monastery, which holds spiritual significance to the Sherpa community.

We will continue our walk through some rocky terrain till we reach the windswept village of Dingboche. Stoned-fenced barley fields mark our entry to the town, where unobstructed mountain views grace us despite the windy chill.

We will conduct our second acclimatisation today, as we have reached a significant altitude.

To acclimate to the altitude and atmosphere, we will take a morning hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083 meters). Despite our long walk today, the hike was absolutely worth it, as we were rewarded with dramatic views of Makalu (8,463 meters), Lhotse, and Island Peak. Spending a few hours at that altitude and enjoying the mountain views, we will descend back to Dingboche and stay one more night in the camp.

After reaching Thukla – a small resting place for the trekkers, we will encounter a steep climb towards the Thukla pass. Reaching the top, we will finda memorial ground for the fallen heroes who lost their lives on Everest.

After honouring the departed, we will continue along fluttering prayer flags and reach a glacial moraine. Along the way, we will reach Lobuche, a tiny settlement surrounded by towering peaks and rough terrain.

After reaching Gorakshep, we will leave our luggage at the lodge, enjoy a warm lunch and then continue our excursion towards the base camp. Walking alongside the Khumbu icefall amid boulders and ridges, we will reach the Everest Base Camp. It's time to celebrate as we have achieved the glory of being in the foothills of the World’s tallest mountain. We can see colourful tents in the distance, used by climbers on their Everest Expedition.
